Spinal Decompression Therapy

SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

The purpose of spinal decompression is to alleviate back & leg discomfort by extending the spine with the help of a traction table or computerized spinal decompression machine. Spinal decompression is administered to the spine in an effort to achieve a number of purported advantages (herniated discs, bulging discs, and so on…). The basis is the same as that of manual traction provided by chiropractors, osteopaths, and other adequately qualified health practitioners.

At Finch Gate Physiotherapy, we offer top-notch spinal decompression therapy to heal your injury and to get you back on your feet as fast as possible. Let us assess your condition and offer you a quick and reliable solution.

A non-invasive effective treatment

Spinal decompression using our state-of-the-art traction machine is one method for treating chronic back discomfort without surgery. For spinal decompression to be effective, we prefer a light stretching motion. The force on the spine and its orientation are both altered by this.

By inducing an opposite pressure within the disc, this modification relieves stress on the spinal discs (the gel-like cushions). As a result, the discs receive more oxygen and nutrient-rich fluids, which aids in their healing.

We tell you if you are a good candidate

If you visit our clinic, our professional chiropractor & physical therapist shall perform a full evaluation of your condition. After that, they'll let you know if non-surgical spinal decompression is a viable option for you. Nonsurgical decompression is not recommended for patients with –

  • Pregnancy
  • Spinal fracture
  • Lesion, skin injury, and tumor
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • Grade 2 osteoporosis
  • Metal implants

How do we perform this practice at Finch Gate?

Throughout the course, you will remain completely clothed and lie either face down or up on the table. A harness is fastened around your pelvis, and around your upper body. The physiotherapist controls the computer, tailoring the care to each individual's needs. The machine starts the decompression process by swiftly stretching the upper & lower body to the opposite side. The physical therapist controls the computer, tailoring the care to each individual's needs. The average therapy session lasts between 30 and 40 minutes.

Surgery is not the only option

For the sake of relieving the strain on your spine, your doctor may recommend surgical procedures. Additionally, spinal fusion surgery may be required. The hazards of surgery are the same as those of any other type of medical procedure. Infection, bleeding, clots, anesthesia, and so on, are some of the most prevalent dangers.

It is always a best option to pay us a visit before your symptoms become severe. We can treat your case if we get enough time to assess, evaluate, and create the perfect treatment regimen. We may employ other alternative techniques to speed up the recovery process.

Bulging, Herniated, Degenerative discs

  • Severe pain is inevitable in the body if spinal one or more discs are pressed against spinal nerves. In the absence of treatment, a bulging disc can rupture severely.
  • The mushy leaks out when the tough outer shell of a spinal disc ruptures. It irritates the local nerves, causing a burning sensation.
  • Degenerative disc disease can cause a disc to lose fluid. Furthermore, they can develop bone spurs. The condition must be addresses ASAP.

Problematic spinal discs can be a leading cause of chronic neck, back, and sciatic nerve pain. Spinal decompression is a revolutionary, noninvasive procedure that can alleviate painful symptoms. At Finch Gate, we perform spinal decompression to help many of our male & female patients who have suffered from chronic disc-related pressure and discomfort, even after other typical treatments.
